Scout report
Rubén Alves is a 32-year-old central defender at Cordoba, rated 23.9 overall by Field Insider's model, ranking 156th of 194 on scout potential in the Segunda División. A seasoned veteran, he has been a rotation option this season (40.5% of available minutes). His defensive output reads 4 tackles, blocks and interceptions per 90. Below: strengths, watch-points, market-value outlook and the latest transfer news on Alves.
Judged on this season alone, Alves graded 14 — a workmanlike campaign that ranks 37th of 47 of the 47 centre-backs in the Segunda División, on 1 clean sheet and 4 defensive actions per 90.
Year-on-year, that's broadly in line with last season (Season 16 → 14). Over the 6 seasons on record his form has drifted down, peaking in 2022/23.
On long-term talent our Rating reads 24, 35th of 47 of the 47 centre-backs in the Segunda División. At 32 Alves is into the veteran stage, where the age curve weighs on the projection, and a market index of 4.1 reflects that trajectory.
Past his 2022/23 peak — the recent trend is downward, so buyers are paying for what's left, not what was.
Output in context · Cordoba finished 14th of 22 · a mid-table side
4 tackles, blocks & interceptions per 90 — solid defensive volume, with 1 clean sheet across 9 appearances. Going forward he chipped in 1 goal and 0 assists — a useful bonus from the back.
Strengths
- Defensive volume. 4 tackles, blocks & interceptions per 90 — does the unseen work.
Watch points
- Game time. Only 40.5% of available minutes — needs a settled run to prove the level.
- Age curve. At 32, both level and resale value are on the downslope.
- Level. Rates below a nailed-on top-tier starter on our model.
Outlook
With a Rating of 23.9, Alves carries the 35th-highest potential of the centre-backs in the Segunda División of 47 — though on just 9 appearances this season, so the standing rests on a small sample. Defensively he reads as solid defensive volume (4 tackles, blocks & interceptions per 90). Veteran phase — a short-term, lower-fee proposition as both level and value decline (0.8× and falling).
