Who is Jonah Osabutey?

After making his debut for his new club this season, he has gone ahead to score 3 goals and 4 assists in just 16 appearances. His fitness and determination have improved after speculations suggest the Ghanaian might not make the first team. Currently his main goal is to return to Werder Bremen after proving himself in his current team on loan. Playing from the left wing, his playing style; he has everything needed by a striker to become a modern-day successful center forward.

What is Jonah Osabuteys’ style of play?

You just have to admire the lad as he plays with a different and unique style. Due to his height and technical ability, he can be described more as a talisman. Playing from the flanks his game play can be compared to that of Wilfred Zaha of Crystal palace. He transitions most times from the flanks down to a more central role. Playing as a striker, he plays more like Oliver Giroud of Chelsea due to technical prowess and a dangerous finishing. Deadly in attack, the young Werder Bremen’s Striker takes no chance in punishing his defenders for any opportunity given.

What are Jonah Osabuteys’ strengths?

One of the reasons why Jonah Osabutey is compared to the likes of Giroud and Zaha is the ability to get on the ball and make productive use of it. His height makes it easy for him to win more possession of the ball aerially. Coupled with his heading and finishing prowess, the Ghana International is a massive force in the attack. He also has the endurance and stamina to see him play tirelessly the whole 90 minutes. In a situation where his team is in desperate need of a goal, he steps up and makes a difference for his team.

What are Jonah Osabuteys’ weaknesses?

Osabutey is a born striker and a deadly finisher. Even though his main goal is to deliver his teammates in times of desperation, there are areas of the game where he lacks. His defending overall is poor, tackling as well is not up to par. Even-though he lacks these characters, it is quite unfair to rate a striker according to these abilities. His overall performance so far is great and we believe he is working more in the areas where he lacks.

Jonah Osabuteys’ Stats Analysis:

Current season (19/20)

Jonah Osabutey has appeared in 16 matches this season (nearly all) and has started quite a whole lot of them as well. Having said that, he has been playing beautifully and we think that he is on the perfect platform with Royal Excel Mouscron. Jonah Osabutey has been loaned out from Werder Bremen after having impressed with Werder’s B team last season.

After having moved for a season loan from Werder to Royal Excel Mouscron; he had little to no time to adapt with his new team mates thus making his appearances even more impressive. Having played 16 matches and scoring 3 and 4 assists might not be as impressive; however, Jonah is playing for a struggling mid-table squad. In their defence, Royal Excel Mouscron have been developing talent year in year out, so it is not all bad for Jonah Osabutey.

To conclude with, he is slowly but surely settling in; we think he is having quite a solid season. He is at the right platform, where he doesn’t have too much pressure. We are looking forward to how Jonah Osabutey will unfold.
