In the last seven matches with Inter Miami, Messi started only once in the game against Toronto, but he was forced to be substituted after just 37 minutes due to injury.

The 36-year-old Argentine is currently suffering from a hamstring tear, and it seems highly unlikely that Messi will be available for Inter Miami for the remainder of the season. Before this injury, Lionel Messi was performing brilliantly at both the club and national levels.
The seven-time Ballon d’Or winner reportedly suffered the hamstring tear during a World Cup qualifier game against Ecuador. After the Ecuador game, he was given rest by Scaloni for the match against Bolivia. Initially, the injury didn’t seem that serious, so Messi was available for the match against Toronto in MLS. However, the hamstring injury got worse during the Toronto game.

The absence of Lionel Messi is a massive blow to Inter Miami’s playoff aspirations. Before signing Messi, Inter Miami had only won once in ten matches. With Messi likely to miss the rest of the season, Inter Miami now has to find a way to secure a playoff spot without their main man. Currently, they are four points below the playoff-securing position with only four matches left to play.
