Cristiano Ronaldo Shines in a Seven-Goal Thriller

After losing the first two games of the Saudi Pro League 2023/24, Al Nassr, led by Portuguese superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, has won the next five matches and is now just three points off the top of the table. Last night, Cristiano Ronaldo and Talisca scored two goals each to secure all three points for Al Nassr in a seven-goal thriller against Al Ahli.

First half Dominance from Al Nassr

Al Nassr took the early lead in the game when Cristiano Ronaldo scored a goal with his weak foot in the fourth minute of the game. Soon after, Brazilian Talisca scored in the seventeenth minute to double Al Nassr’s lead.

Frank Kessie pulled one goal back for Al Ahli in the 30th minute of the game. Al Nassr didn’t take long to restore their two-goal lead. Talisca scored his second of the night in the 46th minute of first-half injury time. The first half ended with a scoreline of 3:1 in favour of Al Nassr.

Second-Half Thriller

The game saw four goals in the first half, and the second half was equally competitive. Al Ahli showed signs of a comeback when Riyadh Mahrez converted a penalty in the 50th minute to reduce Al Ahli’s deficit to one goal. But soon after, Cristiano Ronaldo scored a beautiful goal with his weak foot, past Edouard Mendy. This was Cristiano’s ninth league goal of the season.

Al Ahli managed to pull another goal back when Al-Buraikan scored in the 87th minute. However, it was already too late, and Al Ahli couldn’t salvage a point from the fixture despite scoring three goals.

Weak Foot Brilliance from Cristiano Ronaldo

Cristiano is undoubtedly the most complete striker of our generation. He is capable of scoring goals with either foot, and last night was another example that his weak foot is as good as his right. In fact, in this particular season, Cristiano has scored more goals with his left foot than his right foot. He has scored six left-footed goals, five right-footed goals, and four headed goals.

Star-Studded Match

The game between Al Nassr and Al Ahli was more entertaining because both teams made big signings from Europe in this recent transfer window. Al Ahli’s starting XI featured some renowned names like Firmino, Mahrez, Maximin, Kessie, Demiral, and Edouard Mendy. Similarly, Al Nassr’s lineup consisted of Cristiano, Mane, Otavio, Brozovic, Laporte, and Alex Telles.

The match, full of world-renowned football players, didn’t disappoint and produced a seven-goal thriller. It was a brace from the 38-year-old Cristiano Ronaldo and Anderson Talisca that made the difference for Al Nassr in a 4-3 win.
